Contest rules

Conditions for participation

• The contest begins January 15, 2010 and ends April 15, 2010 at midnight.
• Only one entry per person for the duration of the contest.
• The child in the photo submitted must be 24 months or younger at the end of the contest;
• The photo submitted is final and cannot be changed.
• The deadline for submitting a photo is April 15, 2010 at midnight.
• The contest is for amateur photographers. All photos taken by professionals (at photo studio) will be rejected.
• Participants must be Canadian residents.
• No participation by mail will be accepted.
• Only photos in a .jpg format will be accepted.
• The name of the image (file name) must contain only numbers and letters without spaces and/or any accents.
• The maximum size of the photo must not exceed 5 megabytes.
• All photographs must comply with the proposed theme. Photos which do not respect the theme will be denied.
• No purchase required.

Jury and selection of winners

Finalists will be 5 boys and 5 girls who will be selected by the administration of Mets Petits Choux. The judging panel will consist of 6 representatives and partners who will then select two winners (boy and girl) and two ‘’Coup de Coeur’’ awards (girl and/or boy).

The announcement of the winners will take April 28-29 in Cineplex Divertissement movie theatres in Laval, the Quartier Dix-30 and Ste-Foy, Quebec, during the programming of ‘’Vedettes & Poussettes’’.

Winners will be notified within one month following the deadline for participation.

* Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are non-refundable or redeemable for cash. All prize values are in Canadian dollars.

Two (2) scholarships worth approximately $ 2 000 each.

The two (2) winners will be eligible to a post-secondary scholarship payable in three (3) instalments, of a total approximate value of $ 2 000 each.

• To be eligible, children must be less than two (2) years of age on the day winner’s name are announced.
• Winning entrants must provide their Social Insurance Numbers as well as the designated children’s, plus a copy of the children’s birth certificates.
• The capital necessary for establishing the scholarship plans will be provided and deposited by Universitas Management Inc. in the Universitas Foundation program to maintain the Registered Education Savings Plans in force in respect of any child winner of a scholarship of a total approximate value of $ 2 000.
• Winning entrants will become subscribers; they must renounce any right to the capital used to establish the Plans.
• Children must qualify for their three (3) scholarship instalments between the age of 18 and 35 according to the conditions of the Universitas Plan.
• Prize winners shall accept the terms and conditions set out in the prospectus. Copies are available upon request addressed to : Universitas Foundation of Canada, 3005, Maricourt Ave., Quebec City QC G1W 4T8

General Regulations

1. CONSENT: By participating in the Contest, participants authorize Mets Petits Choux, to use his/her name and photo, without compensation, for advertising, promotional or other. No purchase required by participants.

2. CERTIFICATE OF COPYRIGHT: The participant must be an amateur photographer, shall be the sole owner of copyright in the photograph submitted to the competition and has obtained the consent of people appearing in the photograph, if applicable. It prevents any prosecution to be brought against Mets Petits Choux and its partners following any subsequent use of the photo submitted to this contest and must sign a statement confirming that clause.

3. LICENSE FOR REPRODUCTION AND / OR PUBLICATION: It is understood that photographs of all contestants will be reproduced and used by Mets Petits Choux and gives Mères et Cie the right to reproduce and / or use for commercial photographs submitted to this contest, and without any restriction and any form of compensation.

4. EXCLUSIVE: Participants cannot submit a photograph having been honored to into another photo contest. A person can participate only one (1) time and can submit a single photograph for the contest period. Only one entry per email address is permitted for the duration of the competition.

5. DISCLAIMER: The Contest excludes, people working or cooperating for the benefit of the contest for Mets Petits Choux and its partner, employees, representatives, agents, board members jury and the persons with whom they reside.

6. AGE AT TIME OF ENTRY: All entrants must be aged 18 years and older at the time of participation (submission of the photo).

7. METHOD OF AWARD OF PRIZE: Winners will be selected by the judging panel. Winners will be notified by email and / or telephone.

8. All prizes must be accepted as is and are not exchangeable, not transferable or redeemable for cash.

9. The winners of Mets Petits Choux products will be required to pick up their prizes at the company’s headquarters;

10. By entering this contest or trying to participate, each participant and/or the purported participants agrees to: (1) release, discharge and hold harmless forever, people to whom the contest is held and their directors, officers, employees, shareholders, agents or other representatives (collectively, "indemnified") from any claims, actions, damages, demands, manner of actions, causes of action, suit, debt, duty , accounts, bonds, covenants, warranties, indemnity, contract or liability of any nature whatsoever arising from or related to participation in the contest or attempted participation, and if selected as a potential winner to sign the declaration form and waiver that will be sent before receiving the prize. The indemnified will not be held responsible for lost, incomplete, late or misdirected entries or for any failure of the Contest website during the contest period, or for any technical malfunction or other problems with the telephone network or lines, of computer online systems, servers, access providers, equipment or software or any other technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination of the foregoing, and will not liable for any injury or damage to any person or property resulting from participation or attempted participation of such person or any other person in this contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and, if such an attempt be made. The sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. No communication or correspondence will be entered into with participants.

11.Any conflict related to the organization or conduct of the contest may be submitted to the Government Control Board of Alcohol, Races and Games for a ruling. Any litigation related to the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Board only for the purpose of an intervention for resolution..
